Captivated, her first studio album in three years, delivers a personal and profound message that is not only a watermark album for Nicole, but one that speaks clearly to today's generation.
Additionally, Captivated features a host of talented musicians and singers including Chris Rodriguez, Dan Needham, Michael O'Brien, Papa San and The Katinas. Nicole's husband and long-time music collaborator, David Mullen, not only co-wrote with Nicole on a few songs for the project, but he was instrumental in introducing Mullen to her first-time producing partner, Ed Cash.
"Ed has stretched me in many ways. His approach to things has broadened my creativity, making me go beyond what I thought I could do," said Nicole C. Mullen.
The project features a number of songs that celebrate God's majesty such as the powerful "Kingdom Come."
"Every other day there is a tornado or an earthquake or a tsunami or oil spill or whatever it is," said Mullen. "Even nature is crying out for the return of Christ, for His kingdom."
Other standouts include "I Need You (As the Deer)," "Forgive," "Lead Me" and Nicole's take on the Andrae Crouch classic "My Tribute" with "Redeemer" medley.
"My mom told me a long time ago 'when you sing, never sing to the people, always sing to the audience of one and invite the people to worship along with you,'" Mullen said. "And so that's my new aim these day is to sing to the 'Audience of One' and hopefully it becomes so contagious and the melody becomes so soothing and so inviting that people will want to sing along."

Mullen has also just released a new six-session small group curriculum on DVD from Isaiah 61 in the Inspiring Women series, entitled "Captivated By Prayer." In this new curriculum, Mullen shares life-enriching wisdom, scriptural concepts and practical tips on how to pray and she explores how Jesus used the Lord's Prayer to teach believers how to pray.
When not in the studio or out on the road touring, Mullen spends time working with the Baby Girls Club, a non-profit dedicated to affirming and celebrating each girl's worth and helping them to make a healthy contribution to their community. The group of 6-17 year old girls comes together to study, sing, and dance, sew, talk, laugh, create and dream. Her other organization, Team NCM, recruits talented youth to perform on stage with her.
