Where Faith Abounds, Clothes Don't Burn

This is Naina, a sixth-grader in one of Gospel
 for Asia’s Sunday school programs.

Naina is an 11-year-old girl in South Asia, and she has seen the Lord answer her simple, faith-filled prayers to conquer a demon.
Seven years after Naina and her family came to Christ and joined a Gospel for Asia-supported church, Naina’s mother, Fadheela, encountered an unusual problem. Her clothes often acted as if they were being burned—while Fadheela was wearing them! Many of her dresses were ruined this way, and the anomaly frightened the family. No medical advice gave any explanation, nor did any treatment offer a solution.
A few months after the problem started, Naina learned about God’s love and miraculous power while attending GFA Sunday school. During the lesson, Naina stood up and told the class about her mother’s predicament. Her teacher encouraged her with Scripture to pray in faith for her mother.

The Lord answered Naina’s simple prayers
of faith for her mother, seen on the left.
Naina started praying. Then, one morning, this sixth grader took out one of her mother’s new dresses and pleaded with her to put it on. Afraid her nice dress would be ruined, Fadheela refused. Naina persisted, however, and after her mother reluctantly put on the dress, she expressed her faith, saying, “Mummy, don’t worry. I am continuously praying for you. I believe today your dress will not get burned.” The Lord gave Naina what she asked for: Her mother’s dress remained intact the entire day!
Later on, the family learned the significance of what Naina had asked the Lord to do. The burning of the clothes had been the work of an evil spirit, so when Naina had asked the Lord to stop the problem, she had been praying against the power of darkness. In answering Naina’s faithful prayers, the Lord counteracted the work of that fire-breathing demon.
Seeing their daughter’s faith in action helped Naina’s parents grow in faith, too. They are growing in knowledge and learning to trust the Lord even more now.
